ethos

Our approach to fashion is characterized by the convergence of architecture, design, and functionality. Merging the skills, methods and ideas from different disciplines, offers a forward-thinking perspective on production and development.

Liberating the process from conventional timelines
Central to our vision is the liberation of our process from the conventional timelines and constraints of the fashion industry. We firmly believe in crafting garments that transcend fleeting fashion fads, prioritizing enduring quality and timeless appeal. By curating limited capsules, we reject the excesses of mass production and foster an ethos of intentional consumption.

Local production and conscious craftsmanship
Implicit to our endeavor is supporting local production, ensuring that skilled artisans within our communities craft our garments with care. We forge meaningful partnerships with selected manufacturers who share our values. We collaborate with garment manufacturers and ateliers in The Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, Portugal, Romania, and Lithuania. We advocate for a paradigm shift in fashion production, nurturing a culture of consicous craftsmanship.

Intentional consumption
We are dedicated protagonists of responsible consumerism, encouraging mindful choices that surpass excessive consumption. Through our offering of timeless pieces, we invite individuals to curate purposeful wardrobes that withstand the test of time. With our approach, we aspire to inspire individuals to engage with fashion in an intentional and thoughtful manner, fostering an appreciation for the value of thoughtful and intentional choices.

fabrics and materials

Fundamental to the design process is the selection of qualitative materials that offer a significant impact on the overall quality and lifespan of the garment. We prioritize sourcing materials from dead-stock or stock parties, and partners that offer organic and certified fabrics and yarns. We aim to provide clear information about the origin and composition of each material.

COTTON

We embrace to work with cotton which is a natural and renewable fiber that stands the test of time. It is biodegradable and does not release microplastics into waterways, reducing its impact on the environment. Cotton is relatively easy to maintain as it does not require any special handling or care instructions. Cotton feels soft and gentle against the skin and is highly breathable, making it comfortable to wear and suitable for everyday use. Almost all of our cotton fabrics used in our collections are GOTS certified organic cotton. GOTS is the world's leading textile processing standard for organic fibers, including environmental and social criteria. It is supported by independent certification of the entire textile supply chain.

To ensure longevity, we recommend washing our 100% cotton garments on a gentle cold cycle, using a gentle cycle and wash with similar colours, or cold hand wash if the garment has been embellished. Avoid tumble drying as this may damage the fabric. Instead, air dry by laying the garment flat or hanging it in a shaded area. This allows the cotton to dry naturally while maintaining its shape and integrity.

WOOL

We work closely with our long-term suppliers to carefully select the best types of wool for our knitwear and woolen fabrics. By prioritizing responsible sourcing from Europe only, we ensure that the wool used in our products meets high standards of quality and sustainability. We offering a variety of wool qualities that cater to different preferences and needs. Our 100% lambswool yarn from Scotland is RSW certified. In addition, we also offer a yarn blend of cashmere and extrafine merino sourced from Italy. This luxurious blend is both OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 and RSW certified. The cashmere and extrafine merino combination creates a soft and lightweight texture that is gentle on the skin and offers exceptional warmth. Both yarns are thermo-regulating, wrinkle-resistant, fire-resistant, and UV-resistant. The natural grease content of the wool adds a layer of protection, making it resistant to odors and stains.

The natural grease content of the wool contributes to its resistance to odors and stains, allowing for easy care and maintenance. Taking proper care of your wool garments is essential to maintain their quality and increase their durability. While most wool items do not require frequent washing, spot cleaning and airing them out can often be sufficient to keep them fresh. If you need to wash your beloved wool garment, we recommended to hand-wash it using cold water, avoid wringing the garment but gently squeeze out the excess water and drye flat. Fold your wool garments and store them in a drawer or on a shelf. This will help maintain their shape and revent any unnecessary stress on the fibers.

VISCOSE

Viscose is a regenerated fiber made from wood pulp. With its excellent moisture absorption properties and soft touch against the skin, it offers a comfortable and luxurious experience. That makes it an excellent versatile materials and the ideal partner in mixed fabrics. One notable type of viscose which we use is ECOVERO™ from Lenzing™. It is known for its viscose fibers that are derived from certified renewable wood sources. The production process for ECOVERO™ viscose is designed to have a lower environmental impact compared to traditional viscose production methods.

When it comes to care and to extend the life of our 100% viscose or viscose blend garments, we recommend using a professional dry cleaner for proper maintenance. Viscose loses its strength in wet conditions, hard washing, heavy spinning and draining can therefore ruin the garments.

SILK

Discover the essence of luxury through our silk garments, where the extraordinary story of silkworms unfolds. Derived naturally from their cocoons, these remarkable creatures spin a fiber that boasts unparalleled qualities. Without the need for chemical interventions, the resulting fabric shines with a lustrous allure, offering a smooth and gentle touch that withstands the test of time.
We place our trust in the hands of a renowned factory in Italy. Their dedication to craftsmanship and pursuit of excellence ensures that each fabric in our collection embodies durability and impeccable quality. Experience the elegance and longevity of our silk garments, knowing that they are crafted with utmost care and respect.

When it comes to caring and to extend the lifespan of your beloved silk garments from our collection, dry cleaning is the reliable method to preserve their vibrant colors and protect them from potential abrasive damage.

To ensure the longevity of your FRANCON garment, we advise to always refer to the care label for specific instructions.
